WWE Hall of Fame 2017 ceremony was conducted in Amway Center Orlando, Florida. The show highlights some of the legendary WWE superstars who gave everything they had to the wrestling world. This year's Hall of Fame ceremony was a bit special because of Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle. He is the only Olympic gold medalist in the history of wrestling who has been invited to join the Hall of Fame.
List of WWE Hall of Fame Inductee:
1. Kurt Angle
WWE Superstar John Cena introduced Kurt Angle to the Universe as the most iconic wrestler who went beyond the physical boundaries to entertain the pure wrestling fans. During his wrestling career, Kurt was famous for his ankle lock. The lock enabled him to win many matches including Wrestlemania match against Shawn Micheals. Kurt gave an inspirational speech with an advice to new members of World Wrestling Entertainment to do something unique and taking risks He concluded his speech by drowning two bottles of milk creating a Wrestlemania moment.
2. Beth Phoenix
The Glamazon Beth Phoenix became the part of WWE women's elite group. She is one of those women wrestlers who forge path for the next generation superstars. The ultimate combination of strength and beauty left no stone unturned to entertain WWE fans globally. Among many others, she thanked the WWE Universe, her mother, her husband Adam (who Tony Chimel emerged to introduce as The Rated-R Superstar, Edge), her children, her family, her college roommate, and Afa the Wild Samoan.
3. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express
Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson aka The Rock 'n' Roll Express are among very few Tag-Team partners who actually took Tag-Team match style to the next level. They published a book on wrestling which is a must read for the newbie in the professional wrestling. They were inducted into the 2017 Hall of Fame ceremony by legendary manager Jim Cornette. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express spoke almost as one with every joke they told and every thank you they gave. They spoke of their families, about coming up in the business and about going to war with “the boys.” Among many others, they thanked Jerry “The King” Lawler, Jimmy Hart, Bill Dundee, Jim Ross, Dusty Rhodes, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Ric Flair, The Fabulous Freebirds, the Midnight Express and God.
4. Diamond Dallas Page
Diamond Dallas Page was inducted by the always controversial Eric Bischoff, who said his friend’s incredible journey was filled with passion, desire and commitment as a manager, announcer and ultra-tenacious in-ring performer. But more than anything else, Bischoff honored Page’s unbelievable heart and how he used that heart to help so many others.
5. "Ravishing” Rick Rude
Rude was inducted posthumously by fellow Hall of Famer Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. His family received the award on his behalf and said- “What we'd like to have right now, is for all you fat, ugly, WrestleMania sweat hogs to keep the noise down as the ‘Ravishing One’ takes his place in the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017.” Steamboat mentioned Rude’s time in the Bobby Heenan Family and his tenure as the Enforcer for D-Generation X, as well as his own personal showdowns with “The Ravishing One” in the squared circle.
